Basics (Activating and Deactivating spells)
The magic system is simple and easy-to-use. If you want to cast a spell that your character has learned, you must Activate the spell on the Magic page. This is very similar to how you would equip or unequip weapons and armor on the Inventory page. Once your spell has been activated, your character will cast it automatically when it's needed*. Combat spells are cast in battle, mining spells are cast when you are mining, etc. Just make sure your spell is activated, otherwise it won't be cast at all!

* Many spells are cast randomly, so a particular combat spell might not be cast EVERY time you enter a battle.

Catching Monsters with the Catch Monster spell
The Catch Monster spell, when activated, will be cast in battles automatically whenever the monster's HP is low enough to be caught** (how weak a monster needs to be varies from monster to monster). To do this, you must be careful that you do not kill the monster before it gets to that low health point***. At that point, a message will appear, telling you that the spell has been cast. Once it's been cast, there is a random chance that it will be caught (some monsters have a higher chance to be caught than others).

** A few monsters cannot be caught, but most can be. Nearly all non-boss monsters can be caught . For hints on which monsters can and can't be caught, ask other players on the forums. Some bosses can even be caught!

***Hint: If you are trying to weaken a monster (in order to catch it), but you accidentally kill it before the Catch Monster spell activates, try equipping a weaker weapon.
